Esplanade, Golden beach

There is a liberty swing in the parklands alongside the Pumicestone Passage at Golden Beach, on The Esplanade in Caloundra. It is next to a shaded children's playground and there is a designated wheelchair parking spot close by.  (See images).  If you don't already have a key for the swing, one can be collected free of charge from the Caloundra City Council on Omrah Avenue, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The office is opposite the Council Library. Apparently it is easiest to park in Bulcock Street and walk through to Omrah Avenue. Once you have a key, there is no need to return it. This one key is good for all the Liberty Swings in Australia. The Liberty Swing is a swing designed so that someone in a wheelchair can wheel straight on to the device and lock the wheels securely in place. The swing can then be put in motion, without the user having to leave their wheelchair.
