How to share info on accessible places

It is possible with GetGoStay to provide information to be published under any of our topic areas. Note * if your property is already listed on our site, check the 'Information for property owners' heading at the bottom of this article.  If your property is not yet listed and you wish to add your property information to GetGoStay, or you know of a terrific accommodation option and want to share that information, all you need to do is the following:

Register as a user

  1. First you need to register with GetGoStay. It's Free! To do this simply go to the home page and click on the small head and shoulders image with the plus sign next to the Log in sectionAdd person icon (see right) and create your free account. 
  2. Now return to the home page and log on with your registration details (user name, password).
  3. You are ready to enter information on your property

Enter your information

Once you have logged on as a registered user, go to the section where you want to enter your information, such as Apartments, Resorts, etc.  The easiest way to do this is to click on 'Submit New Listing' which will take you straight to it.

Key Fields

Near the top of the screen on the right side is a small box with the words 'Add new listing'.  Click on this and follow instructions as they appear and enter your information.  There are a few mandatory entry fields marked with a red asterisk which must be completed for you to proceed.  Near the bottom of the page is a section called 'Summary'.  The information you put in 'Summary' is a brief summary of the property which will appear on the main site, just under the property title and next to the lead photo (if there is one).

The questionaire has a number of headings that highlights your property from an accessibility perspective. These include Location, Contact Details, Accessibility, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Living, View, Balcony/Courtyard, Facilities, Equipment available, Things to do nearby such as eating options and places to go. Fill in with whatever information you have. It is this information that helps our users select your property for thier stay.


If you wish to add photo images, there is a section for you to do this which is clearly labelled 'Images'.  When preparing photos for uploading to the site, ensure that they are not too big. (Maximum size is 300 KB).  Setting photo sizes no higher than 'medium' and quality to high works well.  Anything more than this is too big. Click on the browse buttons to upload photos, one photo per browse button. You are allowed to download five photos.  Check that there are not people in them and declutter the area of personal items which might detract from the overall image.  GetGoStay is about accessibility, so a photo of the view (from an accessible balcony for instance) is good.  In your photos try to show accessible features.  Photos that show ramps, grab rails, accessible features in bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens are great.  It is very true that a picture is worth a thousand words!

Submit the information

Once you have completed the information fields and uploaded any photos, click on submit.  An e-mail acknowledging receipt of your information will be sent automatically to your registered e-mail address.  Once this information has been reviewed, you will be informed by e-mail when your information is  publicly available online.

Bear in mind that GetGoStay is only interested in places that are offering accessibility to people with disabilities.  Information about places which do not offer any accessible facilities will be removed.

Information for property owners

Property owners can maintain the information available online by registering with GetGoStay and selecting the 'Manage' option online.  First, simply register by entering your details on the Home page and an e-mail will automatically be sent to your designated e-mail address with an activation link. 

Copy this link to your URL browser to activate your free getgostay account. 

Once activated, you will be able to claim your business.  Just find your property on our site, click on the property title to bring up the details and then click on the 'Claim this Business' button above the property address.  Once your claim is verified by us (normally this should only take two to three days) you'll be able to log on and manage/edit your property information as desired.  You'll be able to keep your information up to date and add relevant photos to suit!
